Career Summary

Gina graduated from the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music in 2000 having obtained a Bachelor of Music with Honours and a Graduate Diploma of Music. She went on to successfully complete a Bachelor of Teaching, specialising in Music in 2002.

In Opera, Gina has performed the Principal roles of both Dido and Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas: the title role of Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica; and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte amongst others.

Performances in Music Theatre include Me and My Girl; The Secret Garden; Side by Side by Sondheim; ; Sweeney Todd, and the lead role of Maria in West Side Story and Cosette in Les Miserables at Hobart's Theatre Royal.

As a recitalist, Gina has performed such works as Brittens Les Illuminations; Samuel Barber's Hermit Songs; Mozarts Exultate Jubilate; Bach Cantata 51 and the Australian premiere of Francis Rosses's contemporary pieces for voice and Saxophone.

Gina has been the recipient of numerous awards including the DJ Mazda Operatic Aria at the City of Hobart Eisteddfod in 1999. In the same year, she was invited and given scholarship to travel to Melbourne where she participated in the Master Course program at the prestigious Australian National Academy of Music.

In Oratorio, Gina has been in demand as a soprano soloist in a number of performances across Tasmania. These include Handel's Messiah; the Mozart Requiem; Frigyes Hida's Requiem; Schubert Mass in C; Schubert Mass in G; Rutter Requiem; Bach Magnificat; Dvorak Te deum; Vivaldi Gloria; Bach Magnificat; and Rossini's Petite Messe Sollenelle and Mozart Mass in C Minor amongst others.

Other Appearances in 2007 have included Purcell's Dido & Aeneas for Ten Days on the Island, and Broadcast on ABC Classic FM, becoming Orchestral Director and Conductor for the Musical CATS, & Conducting the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music Vocal Ensemble and Lecturing in Aural Studies during 2008 as well as teaching Classical and Contemprary Voice Privately from her studio.

Teaching

Gina conducts the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music Vocal Ensemble and Lectures in the Classical Core Studies Aural program.
