Jonathan graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts/Law in 1999 and a Research Master of Arts in 2001; he completed his doctorate at the University of Cambridge in 2008. He has taught as an Assistant Lecturer in Classical Studies at Monash University between 2000-2004, and most recently as a Teaching Officer in Classics at Pembroke College, Cambridge, in 2008-09.

Research Interests

Augustan poetry & early imperial Roman literature, the Roman novel; reflexivity and generic conflict in Latin poetry; representations of gender and genre in Latin literature.
