Collective Mental States
This study involves bringing insights from linguistics, philosophy, psychology, and sociology into the context of political science. Collective mental states are classified using plain English words such as euphoria, depression, and memory, and their management is considered. The relationship between language and mental state is examined. The role of leadership in managing mental states is considered. Five refereed papers have been published and two book chapters are in progress. The section on collective memory is in collaboration with Dr M. Potscke, University of Vienna.
