Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Laws (European Languages)
I graduated from UTAS in 1997 with a combined degree (Bachelor of Arts, with a major in French / Bachelor of Laws) as well as a Diploma of Education. I am now working as a lawyer with a Hobart law firm. From 1997 I took over the production and broadcasting of a French radio program on Hobart Community radio station 7 THE 92.1 FM. The show is from 11 am to 12 noon each Sunday. I am currently doing the show alternately with a French Canadian lady, Nina Frigault. It is a fantastic way of keeping in touch with current French music and events as we receive a lot of free CD’s and material, courtesy of Radio France International. I have been back to France for a number of visits, most recently in 2003. Most of my time has been spent in the Charente region in the South-West of France. There are heaps of opportunities for using French in Tasmania. It was a lot of fun doing French at uni and I recommend it to anyone who is thinking of enrolling.
