Graduate Certificate (Chinese, Indonesian or Japanese) in 2010
Funded by DEEWR through NALSSP and the University of Tasmania

Expressions of interest invited from teachers wishing to develop a high level of Asian language proficiency

New pathways are available for current teachers with undergraduate majors in an Asian language and for those with some facility in the language, funded by DEEWR through the National Asian Languages and Studies in Schools Program (NALSSP)

Information for School Principals

*  Upgrade Asian language teaching skills in your school
*  Receive payment for .1 of FTE 

Information for Teachers

*  Earn a Graduate Certificate or continue to a Graduate Diploma
*  Upgrade language and teaching skills – new ideas and materials, boost to language skills, intensive study in country
*  Become qualified to teach intermediate UTAS units in Chinese, Japanese or Indonesian in the College Language Program
*  Combination of online teaching and face-to-face workshops
*  Two 13-week semesters in 2010
*  HECS scholarships to cover all tuition
*  Travel scholarships for participating in in-country program (3-6 weeks) over the summer break
