Hunter Street Redevelopment

The rehabilitation of the site adjacent to the Tasmanian School of Art, on Hunter Street at Sullivan’s Cove, Hobart, is the subject of a research project being run by a team of staff and students, in the broader context of sustainable development in Tasmania. The Henry Jones buildings are being redeveloped as an Art Hotel, and the research team are coordinating artists' responses to the site. Artists have been invited to interpret the notion of travel and accommodation, to critique the hotel itself, or to analyse and respond to the previous functions of the site.
